A Gathering of Furs
Welcome to the world of root&star, the magazine for the WHOLE child —
the wise, the wild, the strange & the sweet.
We bring meaningful literature and art to children all year long. Hooray!
In our second issue we explore the theme of FUR. We are animals, all of us, and we are born wailing — we are born a little bit furry. Children teach us so well how wild we can be. This issue reflects that wildness back to them.
Issue 2 includes amazing work by the best talent and heart we know: Lorna Crane, Judith Edwards-White, Amanda Ferris, Kanjana Yotjan Hamilton, Christine Hartzler, Joel Henriques, Erin Huber, Abbigail Knowlton Israelsen, Robb N. Johnston, Lida Larina, Sabrina Lee, Tracey Long, Courtney Mandryk, Bethann Garamon Merkle, Annie Marie Musselman, and KC Trommer.
40 full-color pages of beauty and life.
The target audience for each magazine is children ages 2-7, or children who are being read to and/or are just learning to read — but because children are never far from their siblings and caregivers, we created a magazine that can be enjoyed by all age groups.
